The Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE) is a NON-PROFIT, NON-GOVERNMENTAL, PROFESSIONAL AND BUSINESS ORGANIZATION which promotes, represents and coordinates common interests of its members before the state and other authorities in the country and abroad. In Zagreb, on 16 February 1852, the Chamber of Commerce and Crafts was founded as part of a uniquely designed chamber system of the Austrian Empire. The logo of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce comprises 1852 as the year of the chamber system foundation. Based on the several legal regulations, the CCE has numerous public authorities, such as: issuance of certificates accompanying goods during export and import, issuance of ATA carnet Distribution of permits for international freight transport by road, harmonization of timetables for regular road transport of passengers, register of real estate brokers, etc. The courts at the CCE are: The Mediation Centre, The Permanent Arbitration Court, The Court of Honour. The Croatian Chamber of Economy provides support to its members through four representative offices (Brussels, Moscow, Shanghai, and Belgrade) and two offices (Sarajevo, Mostar). The Chamber consists of the Headquarters in Zagreb and 20 County Chambers.
The Croatian Chamber of Economy – County Chamber Rijeka inherits the tradition of the Rijeka Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1811 during the French administration in this region. Ever since its foundation, the Chamber has been changing its names and structures, but in the previous 208 years, it has proven its position as the most important economic and political agent. Today, County Chamber Rijeka is one of the biggest County Chambers, representing and coordinating common interests of members from Primorje Gorski Kotar County. According to the subject of business, members are divided in Associations and Professional groups. Members associate in order to promote and protect common interests. In Rijeka County Chamber is headquarter of two Associations of Croatia – Croatian Marinas Association and Croatian Ports Association. Rijeka County Chamber chairs the Commission of Logistics and Transport in Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME).
